Story
Jordan, 17-year-old – Miami Cancer Institute & Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital
Jordan’s cancer journey started in 2009 when he was 2 years old. After being diagnosed with Wilms’ Tumor (kidney cancer), he underwent chemotherapy, radiation and the removal of his right kidney.
Two years after his initial diagnosis, a chest CT scan revealed new pulmonary nodules in his right lung. After an excision of four lung nodules, they were confirmed cancerous so once again Jordan had to endure more treatment.
In September 2023, after being cancer-free for over ten years, Jordan relapsed with a Metastatic Wilms Tumor compromising his lungs, spine, and ribs. Courageously, Jordan has once again completed chemotherapy, and is receiving 14 fractions of radiation. A stem cell transplant will be his next procedure.
Jordan’s grandmother has power of attorney, and is his primary caretaker. His father lives in Orlando, and his mother is not involved in his life. Jordan’s second relapse has forced Jordan’s grandmother to part from her job, due to the frequency of Jordan’s doctor’s appointments and hospitalizations. The family is going through tough emotional and financial hardships; any contribution would be immensely appreciated.
