Giulianna is a sweet and caring 12-year-old. She was diagnosed March 12, 2024, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It came on so fast it was a gut-wrenching shock to us all. She had never even had blood drawn before and then, suddenly was being whisked away for chemotherapy port placement surgery. It was an extremely rough start to her journey with 2 failed attempts at that surgery before the third was successful. Her little body gave us roadblocks every turn we took. It was terrifying to say the least.
After 30 days straight in the hospital, never leaving from the ER where she was diagnosed, we were able to come home and then start the grueling schedule of inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy. Being a single mother I had no choice but to leave my job to be by her side for these treatments. It was a terrifying financial decision, but my baby needs me.
Giulianna is an identical twin, “older sister” not only because she is a whopping 1 minute older, but because she has always had a nurturing side to her especially with her twin. Giulianna loves to cook, craft, and play games. She has also maintained her straight A’s in school throughout her entire treatment and is a very proud member of the National Junior Honor Society.
We very much look forward to the day she is all clear and can ring the Bell ending treatment. It is a long road ahead and I could very much use some financial support for our bills. Rent, utilities, car note & insurance, organic food/ supplements. It is a double whammy drowning financially and emotionally in this situation and I gratefully appreciate any help we can receive.
