Superhero Family Picnic 2025
10 South Florida Childhood Cancer Nonprofits United to Celebrate Families Battling Childhood Cancer
Families battling childhood cancer had a special respite day at the “Superhero Family Picnic” held at AD Barnes Park in Miami on March 8, 2025. (60) families facing unfathomable challenges were distracted from their serious pediatric cancer journey while enjoying fun activities including pony rides, a magic show, craft stations and storytelling. Families also enjoyed delicious food, live entertainment, and special visits from their favorite superheroes.
The (10) South Florida nonprofits cohosting the event were Fight Like a Kid, Forza Stefano Charitable Foundation, Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation, Live Like Bella, Miggy’s Gift, Mystic Force Foundation, Oliver Patch Project, Sebastian Strong, Sofia’s Hope & Sunrise Day Camp. Each of these organizations plays a vital role in supporting families affected by childhood cancer, and their collective efforts highlight the power of unity in making a lasting difference. Our goal to unite and bring together the childhood cancer community under one united banner to provide families with joy, relaxation, and connection was accomplished. Collaboration is the key to making a real impact! We greatly appreciate the support of sponsors and volunteers. *Photo credit volunteer Lisa Nalven
