Donning their best gold attire, more than 500 guests arrived at Revolution Live to celebrate The Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation 15th Anniversary Gold Party on Saturday, June 1st.
The event, which raised over $245,000 for cancer-stricken children, included an open bar, specialty food stations, unique interactive entertainment, a Go Gold Challenge, sophisticated silent auction, raffle, dancing, art that rocks by Perego and a surprise performance by Shannon, “Queen” of freestyle and dance-pop music. Gold was the chosen theme as it is the color symbolizing childhood cancer.
During the event, Sandra Muvdi, President and CEO of Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation, took the stage to thank guests for their ongoing support of a cause that is so near and dear to her heart. Shaddai Randolph and Sean Nuñez, assisted children honored as Gold Ambassadors, drew the winning raffle tickets and recognized the top sponsors. Onstage Sandra was drenched with poured GOLD paint by artist Perego along with the winner of the “Go Gold Challenge” (fundraising teams taking the challenge to GO GOLD for kids fighting cancer). Ana Vento’s Events by Vento Designs team won the challenge raising over $24,000 followed by team captains David Lister (2nd place) and Magali Salazar (3rd place). The total raised by the Go Gold Challenge teams was over $62,000.
“I am very excited to share our milestone event raised more than any other event in our history. The fundraising idea, Go Gold Challenge, was a hit and a highlight for the party. It was gratifying to see so many guests enjoying the occasion and celebrating in gold. I attribute the success of the event to an army of supporters and thank them for being a part.” said Sandra Muvdi, President/CEO of JJCCF.
