Dear Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation (JJCCF) Friends,

During
this Holiday Season we kindly request that you keep children with
cancer in your prayers, and consider giving to local families in crisis
enduring pediatric cancer. Applications being processed for JJCCF’s
Financial Assistance Program have doubled since last year, and we ask
for your support as we grow to accommodate increasing
demand. During the past four years our Financial Assistance Program
has served approximately 920 children and their family members impacted
with childhood cancer (as of 11/15/10). Online Donation

The
spotlight in this issue is on Ka’mya and her story. Ka’mya was
recently diagnosed with Wilms’ Tumor (kidney cancer) at Broward General
Medical Center, and her family is now on the verge of
homelessness. Gerley, Ka’mya’s mom, was fired from her job because
she was spending time with her daughter after surgery, and while she was
receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Find Out More

JJCCF’s
Financial Assistance Program provided emergency assistance to cover
October rent which prevented Ka’mya, her baby sister and 21 year old mom
from being evicted. JJCCF also paid for an outpatient pharmacy
bill payable to the Hospital.

Furthermore,
JJCCF recently admitted Ka’mya into our Advocacy Program in hope that
our community and collaborating agencies will help provide rent,
grocery/gas gift cards and help fixing family car while child is
receiving cancer treatment.

Quote
from Mom’s Plea for Help: “After I was told my four year old
princess had Wilms Tumor I felt like my world was coming down on
me. It hurt me so bad because I lost my mother and little sister in
2006 from a car accident. The car flipped seven times on I-75 and
Ka’mya was only six months old.   Only Ka’mya and I made
it alive and ever since then, I always work to make sure that my
daughters have a home and the things they need.”

Quote
from Mom’s Testimony:  “From the bottom of my heart I want to say
thank you so much for being there for me (JJCCF) and my daughter while
we were going through this (cancer) and helping me to still have a home
for my two little girls.” Find Out More

As advocates, we are reaching out for outside emergency support for Ka’mya’s family to survive a temporary crisis.
