“It is with delight that I have the opportunity to write this letter of support for the selection of Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation as NPD’s 2019 Outstanding Organization. I can’t think of another organization more worthy of such recognition.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Sandra Muvdi for more than seven years, and through this friendship have come to know the work of the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation.
Suffice it to say, I have marveled over these years not only with Sandra’s compassion and vision for this organization stemming, of course, from her own personal experience of losing a child, but also with the ability of this organization, under her leadership, to make a difference in the lives of so many, in so many ways, with the limited funds she has available to her. I have never seen her say no — maybe sometimes maybe — but never no and have personally experienced the impact of Jessica June’s generosity in meetings and celebrations recognizing the lives of those they have touched and in which they have made a difference.
While I served as the President & CEO of the Broward Health Foundation, we were fortunate to have the Jessica June Foundation move into our offices, providing us with the opportunity to see firsthand the incredible work they were doing, and Sandra’s compassion for every family they touched. There were clearly days when there was so much need – more than a small organization like Jessica June could ever hope to address – and yet, Sandra always seemed to find a way to take care of those families who turned to them in their hour of need. We in the Broward Health Foundation felt privileged to have them with us and to understand the important work they did on a daily basis.
As I look back at the time I have known Sandra and my work at Broward Health in funding the new Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital, I appreciate even more the impact the Jessica June Foundation, and of course, Sandra, has had on so many children and their families who, unfortunately, made their way to the children’s hospital. I cannot think of a more worthy organization to be selected as the 2019 NPD Outstanding Organization than the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation, nor one that on a daily basis makes such an enormous difference in the lives it touches.”
