Lucas, 2 Y/O, alex’s place/Jackson Memorial Hospital
Lucas was born prematurely but miraculously survived as his twin brother died 19 days later. Just after celebrating Lucas’ first birthday, his mother was shocked to learn that Lucas had liver cancer during a routine check-up. A week later, more tests revealed a tumor that required immediate emergency surgery. The tumor was removed successfully but the cancer had already spread.
Since then, Lucas has endured 4 cycles of rigorous life-saving chemotherapy as his parents continue to watch their only child suffer. Lucas mother has been unable to return to work which has steadily driven this family into a financial disaster resulting in their only family car being repossessed.
