JJCCF Friend,
During the Holidays, I will venture on a 5-day challenge trek to reach the ‘end of the world’ to help children fight cancer. I will tackle the iconic W-Trek in Torres del Paine located in the southernmost part of the Chilean Patagonia (close to Antarctica). The demanding trek is 50 miles long and involves up to 9-hour hiking days, 9,000 feet climbs, crossing a river and ice hiking on Grey Glacier.
As you may know, I lost my only child to cancer and I am a cancer survivor myself, so this trek is a tribute to those going through treatment, survivors and those who have lost their battle with cancer. For the next 56 days I will continue training and building up my stamina for the challenge. My self-funded backpacking adventure begins on December 21 and includes spending Christmas among new friends I will meet on the circuit and at Refugios (rustic hostels).
During JJCCF’s 20th Anniversary year, I decided to get out of my comfort zone to honor cancer-stricken children spending the Holidays in the hospital. I invite you to support this challenge I am undertaking pushing my mind and body to the limits in the wilds of Patagonia. 100% of your donation will become emergency financial assistance and supportive care for families fighting pediatric cancer.
Challenges aren’t meant to be easy! My goal is to raise $20,000. Will you support me by donating today?
